Rich & Cheryl Austin
We have lived in Cottonwood, California
since 1978, we are originally from Southern California. We came when our 2
sons were
still young, 8 and 10 years old, to live in the country vs. the big city. We
moved from a 65' x 110' lot to 21 acres in the rolling hills. We started with
every animal you could imagine, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, pigs,
turkeys, cows and horses. We since grew out of that and in December of
2001 discovered the Mediterranean Miniature Donkeys. We started 2 jennets
just to be pets. We now have 25 donkeys
We have 2 Granddaughters, Ashley 25 and Shaylee
17, and our Grandson, Kelton 10 yrs. You can see them all on the
Grandbabies page.
We host the Northern California
Miniature Donkey Show at the Tehama County Fairgrounds in Red Bluff. Last
year was our 8th annual show and it was a huge success, with over 100 donkeys entered. We
are having this year's show on September 2, 3 and 4th.
