Rich & Cheryl Austin
We have lived in Cottonwood, California for
since October of 1978. We were originally from Southern California. We came when our 2
sons were
still young, 8 and 10 years old, to live in the country vs. the big city. We
moved from a 65' x 110' lot to 21 acres in the rolling hills. We started with
every animal you could imagine, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, pigs,
turkeys, cows and horses. We since grew out of that and 2 1/2 years ago
discovered the Mini Donkeys. We started with our first 2 jennets on Dec. 23,
2000. We now have 19 donkeys, a 30 yr. old horse named Peaches and a new
member of the family a 21 yr. old Quarter pony named Bunny.
We have 2 Granddaughters, Ashley 20, Shaylee
11 and our Grandson, Kelton 4 yrs. You can see them all on the
Grandbabies page.
We own Talbot Glass in
Cottonwood, California and I also work full time in another line of work. As you can
see, we have our hands full.
Both of us have wonderful geldings who work
as a team. We are both driving in the shows and having a great time.
Shaylee is also driving.
The fourth annual Northern California
Miniature Donkey Show at the Tehama County Fairgrounds in Red Bluff will be September
9 and to of 2005. For more information contact us at our email address or
call to get on the list of participants.
