The Northern California Miniature Donkey Show is proud to announcthat we are the host for the 2010 Nationals

Rich & Cheryl Austin

We have lived in Cottonwood, California for since October of 1978. We were originally from Southern California. We came when our 2 sons were still young, 8 and 10 years old, to live in the country vs. the big city. We moved from a 65' x 110' lot to 21 acres in the rolling hills. We started with every animal you could imagine, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, pigs, turkeys, cows and horses. We since grew out of that and 2 1/2 years ago discovered the Mini Donkeys. We started with our first 2 jennets on Dec. 23, 2000. We now have 23 donkeys, and two dogs Dougie a Welsh Corgi and Kerby a Golden Retriever.

We have a Granddaughters, Shaylee 14 and a Grandson, Kelton 6 yrs. You can see them all on the Grandbabies page.

Richard drives for Central Oregon Truck Co. and I am retired from 15 years at Blue Shield of California.

Both of us have wonderful geldings who work as a team. We are both driving in the shows and having a great time. Shaylee is also driving and we will start Kelton this year. He has shown at the NCMDS for the past two years.
